The Fitness Center at Glen Ridge Country Club is managed by The Salus Group, Inc. The Salus Group (TSG) is a premiere fitness consulting and management company founded in 2005 by Mario Guaglianone. TSG has built a strong reputation for specializing in comprehensive fitness and wellness center services for leading country clubs in the area. All personal training and group fitness classes are provided by the Salus Group, Inc. Members and guests are not allowed to bring any outside trainers or instructors.

No matter what your level of fitness, you can set and meet your goals in Glen Ridge Country Club's brand new state-of-the-art Fitness Center. Located on the second floor of the Pool Building, the Fitness Center includes separate cardio, weight training, and group fitness rooms.

For those exercisers who enjoy working out with an instructor, the Fitness Center offers personal training packages and a variety of group classes. Both can help complement your personal workout routines and even improve your performance in golf, racquet sports, and other activities.
In order to use the Fitness Center, you will need to sign our new Fitness Waiver. Click here to sign the waiver and receive your personal access code to the Fitness Center. Waivers are also available at the Front Desk.

Trainers are available on-site daily during the following times: 
Monday - Friday: 5:00am to 11:00am & 4:00pm to 7:00pm 
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am to 2:00pm

Group Classes

Class Registration

View the Group Fitness Class schedule & register for classes HERE. Registration for each class opens 7 days prior to the class and can only be made through the GRCC website.

Classes are $17 per person and will be charged to your member account.

Cancellation Policy
Early Cancel - Cancellation of reservations up to 12 hours prior to a Group Class start time will not be charged.
Late Cancel - Cancellation of reservations within 12 hours of a Group Class start time results in a full $20 charge. 
Wait Lists - If a class is full and you register for the class wait list and a spot becomes available, you will automatically be added to the class and sent an email confirmation. This reservation is considered confirmed and all cancellation policies apply.
Instructor Cancellation - If by 9:00pm the night before a class, the class has 3 or fewer registrants, the instructor reserves the right to cancel the class and will notify the registrants via email.

Class Descriptions 

H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) is a total body workout including both aerobic and strength conditioning. This interval-based class is designed to get your heart pumping, tone your body, improve your overall endurance. Modifications for all fitness levels are provided.

Saved by the Bell: Tight & Toned
Rev up your workout, blast calories and get a total body burn with this circuit training class. Saved by the Bell targets strength building to tighten and tone your body. A "circuit" is one completion of all exercises in the program with rest in between each exercise. Great for all fitness levels.

Yoga Clinic
This class will break down the key poses of yoga; examine the shapes and you will learn optimal body alignment with emphasis on holding the postures for building strength along breath work for longevity. A great class for those who are new to yoga

Yoga Stretch & Strengthen
A strong core trains the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together optimally which leads to better balance and stability. Stretching helps to reduce the risk of injury and increases performance with the benefits of greater muscle control, flexibility, and range of motion. In this class the emphasis will be on core work and stretching with long holds for optimal muscle lengthening.

Vinyasa Yoga
The Vinyasa yoga practice is one where the movements are fluid and a gradual progression from one pose to the next while attention is placed on the breath. This class will begin with gentle warm up movements designed to build heat in the body and then move to sun salutations, standing postures, balancing poses, deep twists and will end with a cooling sequence and savasana.

Restorative Yoga
Relax your mind and body through a gentle yoga sequence. No experience necessary.

Power Pilates
This fun and intense matt-based class will help you build greater core strength and stability, tone legs and glutes and improve lower back flexibility. A post stretch and mini meditation will be included at the end to promote greater relaxation.

Classical Mat Pilates
Aside from a serious focus on abdominal work, this class will use props such as the Tri-Ad Ball and the Magic Circle to tone inner and outer thighs, and strengthen the back and glutes. 

Jo’s Zumba encompasses music and rhythms from a myriad of different genres and ethnicities. Her collection of sounds and movement have been inspired by her worldwide travels and class experience. Whilst her assortment contains some Latin music like the more traditional Zumba class, Jo offers a more rounded class including Caribbean, Carnival, African and American beats.

Total Body Workout
Condition & strengthen your total body in this fun & challenging workout with Melissa! This class blends intervals of high energy cardio moves with strength & conditioning exercises to torch calories & tone! Get ready to "get your glow on” with free weights, machines & fun combinations. All levels welcome.

Mario Guaglianone

Lou Barletta
Lou comes to us with a strong passion for fitness and a desire to make being healthy a lifestyle for his clients. Having an athletic background, he played competitive soccer at an early age and throughout high school, which led him to coach 10 year olds on the soccer fields of South Florida. He lived in South Florida for 15 years where being outside and active was always the norm. Coming back to his roots here in NJ, he embarked on the path to becoming a Group Fitness Instructor which eventually led Lou to personal training. Lou is a certified personal trainer and a Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM CPT, CES), as well as TRX group certified. His training and coaching style demonstrate a "back to basics" mentality - mastering basic exercises with an emphasis on good form.


Genevieve Boulanger
Genevieve is a classically trained and certified Pilates and Yoga instructor. She has over 700 hours of training in Power Pilates and Authentic Pilates from the infamous New York Pilates Studio. Genevieve also earned her 300 hour yoga teacher training certification from renowned gurus Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman, Richard Freeman, Richard Rosen and Manorama.

In addition, Genevieve completed a 13 week long anatomy class taught by Dr. Howard Sichel.  By 
strengthening her understanding of the skeletal and muscular systems, as their movements relate to exercise, she is able to inform her students on proper alignments, so that her students experience a safer, more effective and efficient, Pilates and Yoga session.

Prior to opening her own studio in Greenwich, CT, Genevieve taught in NYC for 5 years where she closely studied with Bob Liekens, Suzanne Lavey, Stephanie Beatty, Sean Gallagher, Ton Voogt, Michael Fritz, and Brett Howard.

She also studied at Katonah Yoga for 10 years with Nevine Michaan.

Genevieve was first introduced to Pilates as a professionally trained ballet dancer  upon being diagnosed with scoliosis. After graduating from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Fine Arts and Communications, she embarked on a Public Relations career where she did publicity at Hill and Knowlton and then Marketing at Christie’s Auction House in NYC. It was then that she rediscovered her love of Pilates which ignited her interest in opening her own studio.

Today, Genevieve passionately shares with her students the 500 plus exercises of the classical Pilates method on all apparatus including, Mat, Reformer, Wunda Chair, High Chair, Cadillac.  


Kivar Thurman
When it comes to fitness, Kivar walks the walk. Kivar was recruited for the NFL, trained with the Baltimore Ravens, and is currently signed with the Dodge City Law Arena Football team. He learned from the best the principles and techniques for conditioning, strength training, diet, and weight loss/gain. Kivar complements his pro sports training knowledge with American Sports & Fitness Association® (ASAF) personal trainer certification.

Kivar’s experience as a trainer includes being a sports performance and fitness coach at Power Train in Columbia, Maryland. Power Train is recognized nationally and internationally for consistently producing results for some of the top players in the NFL and attracting athletes from the NHL, MLB and NBA. But you don’t need to come from a major sports league to appreciate Kivar’s ability to help clients reach their goals. Kivar is outgoing and supportive – he makes every workout challenging, safe, and fun.


Tracey Houseman
Tracey is a certified RYT 200 hour Power/Hatha yoga teacher.  As a yoga instructor, Tracey meets clients where they are in their practice and guides them through a vinyasa flow with clear, simple alignment cues that help them connect with their body.

Tracey’s classes are a balance between challenging sequencing that focus on strength and flexibility and creating space for a calm inward practice to still and quiet the mind.

Tracey received her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT®) certification through Powerflow School of Yoga - one of
the leading yoga studios in New Jersey - studying under teachers Stacey Bell, E-RYT 500; Carrie Parker Gasteleu, E-RYT 500; and Christine Joseph, RYT 500. They instilled the importance of proper alignment, breath work, meditation and the art of intelligent communication in giving cues to create the optimal asana experience.

Tracey’s own yoga journey began in 2013 at Powerflow.  While taking classes under Jivamukti teacher Jeffrey Scios, RYT 800, Tracey immersed herself in the total yoga experience, learning to connect yoga principles with the mind, body and spirit on and off the mat. Today Tracey’s commitment to teaching yoga has made her popular with community classes, private group sessions, and private individual sessions.


Jeffrey Mostwill
Jeffrey is a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Golf Fitness professional with more than 16 years of experience in both the fitness and sports specific training fields. Versed in a variety of training modalities including corrective exercise, body composition management, and athletic performance enhancement. Former Division 1 college athlete who has endured and recovered from multiple injuries and surgeries. Relishes the opportunity to take client to the next level, be it post re-hab protocol, or the highest ends of athletic performance.

Ashley Pochick
Ashley is a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer with over 14 years of experience helping individuals achieve their fitness and health goals. Her knowledge, training and experience spans weight loss management, general fitness, functional strength training, nutrition and body sculpting.

Ashley is certified thru the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (Group Ex, Personal Training and Nutrition) and American Red Cross (CPR/AED). She also holds additional certifications specializing in Spin, Pilates, TRX, BodyPump and Kickboxing.

Ashley’s athletic background includes success in gymnastics and figure skating thus sparking her love for athletics, its demands and dedication. Ashley is not only passionate about fitness, but also life balance. Her ability to help others “enjoy” life while being fit has become a specialty.  Her mantra is “Where there is hard work there is much reward” and she truly lives by it. Ashley is very motivated in helping clients reach their desired goals. Her workouts are challenging and rewarding leaving you feeling strong and confident.


Jen Iversen
Jen is a personal trainer with an approach that might be considered atypical. Her focus is to build each client's confidence knowing that many feel intimidated or overwhelmed by the idea of working out. Individual challenges, such as injuries or inexperience in the gym, are recognized and Jen builds an appropriate workout which will strengthen both the body and the soul. Jen is a NESTA certified personal trainer, certified health coach through IIN, has a BA is Sociology, a dozen years of dance training and has enjoyed running her own private studio, bodaciousLIFE, for the past eight years. All this experience, both personal and professional, equips her with the unique ability to meet each client where she is and to help her rise to a level of fitness and wellness otherwise not thought possible. Clients walk away from each session looking forward to the next. Jen uses her knowledge of movement and the body to create engaging workouts which get results without pain. “Working hard and working smarter” has become the motto for this proud mother of two teenagers who understands the benefits of staying in shape while avoiding injury. Jen tries to live the lessons of her health coaching in order to maintain balance, health, happiness and vibrancy. It’s her inspiration to share this information with her clients in an effort to help them find the same fulfillment. 


Sara Isola
Sara is a graduate of Naturally Yoga's 200 hour yoga teacher training program. She is an enthusiastic and compassionate teacher who is alwasy willing to help her students grow. As a yogi, she loves exploring the role of the mind as it relates to our bodies and our lives. If one quote could describe her practice it would be "my thoughts are all I got so I try to make them brave", reinforcing the fact that your mind plays a vital role on how you live your life.

Aside from yoga, Sara enjoyes playing the ukelele, playing volleyball, watercolor painting, and designing toys for children. She is currently working towards completing her children's yoga teacher training.


Melissa Barish
With 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Melissa Barish, MS, CPT, is excited to be a part of the Glen Ridge Country Club Team. She holds a BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MS in Health and Fitness Management from The American University.

After grad school, Melissa worked as a Corporate Fitness Director for The Fitness Company in Washington, D.C. Then she returned to her “NJ roots” to develop medical and patient education materials for the pharmaceutical industry. After her corporate experience, she decided to work in the non-profit sector conducting healthy lifestyle presentations for CancerCare in NYC.

Presently, she is a freelance personal trainer and group fitness instructor certified by ACE (The American Council on Exercise). She is also a Diabetes educator for the Move Well Today exercise program and a certified LiveStrong coach for people living with cancer. She teaches and trains a variety of clientele including athletes, children/teens, active older adults, people with special needs and/or chronic diseases. Melissa enjoys providing a customized approach to assist clients in achieving greater vitality, strength, fat loss and healthier eating through lifestyle coaching and high-energy workouts.

Over the years she has taught a variety of class styles such as athletic conditioning/HIIT, matt pilates, cardio kick box and strength/core training. Melissa meditates every day and loves running, hiking and yoga during her free time.


Joanne Freeman
Joanne studied dance at Brockhill Performing Arts college in the UK since the age of 11 and was part of their senior dance company called ‘Instep’. She then achieved an accounting degree at Merton College London and left her dancing career behind. After moving to the states in 2013 it was her chance to reclaim what she loved, Dance. When Joanne was asked to be in a Haitian Dance show in Times Square she had realized what was missing from her life.

Joanne gained her Zumba certificate in 2014 and started her Dance company Chalia Dance LLC. She has acquired several contracts teaching with the YMCA, Valley Arts and Montclair schools Enrichment as well as most recently joined the artists at SMAPA.



There is no additional fee to use the Fitness Center at your leisure.

Group Classes: $17 per person

Personal Training: $45 for half hour session; $80 for one hour session

TPI Golf Training with Jeff (60 Minutes): $110/Member for Individual Session; $75/Member for Tandem Session; $60/Member for 3-Member Group Session
