Dress Code

Please see below for the proper dress code for each area of the club.
When hosting guests, it is the member's responsibility to inform their guests of the dress code.

Clubhouse/Dining

"Smart/Business Casual"
The Clubhouse Dress Code is applicable to the Main Level, 1894, the patio, and fire pit.
  • Glen Ridge Country Club’s dress code honors a relaxed atmosphere in keeping with our family-friendly values and is applicable to all diners ages 6 and up.
  • Jackets are optional for gentlemen, however, collared shirts are required.
  • Women may feel most comfortable when arriving in a casual dress, or jeans and a nice blouse with dress shoes.
  • If you prefer denim, a well-kept pant in a dark wash is favorable. Nevertheless, denim may not be worn on the Main Level. Denim shorts are not permitted anywhere on club property.
  • Although we like our diners to express their own style, we kindly ask that cargo shorts are not worn anywhere on club property.
  • When dining after playing golf, proper golf attire will be permitted in our golf course level dining areas only.
  • When dining after playing tennis, please change into a collared shirt that can be tucked into their un-tattered tennis shorts and remove hats and viors. Women and young ladies must wear tennis attire that is in good taste. This includes, but is not limited to, shirts, skorts, tank tops (non-spaghetti strap), skirts and dresses that are designed for tennis.
  • Fitness and pool attire are not permitted outside of their designated areas.
  • Hats are not allowed inside the clubhouse. Hats may be worn on the outside patios and at the fire pit.
  • If you are choosing Glen Ridge Country Club for a special celebration or romantic night, you will also feel comfortable dressed on account of the occasion.
  • When hosting guests, it is the member’s responsibility to inform their guests of the dress code.

Appropriate tennis attire and tennis shoes are required on the courts at all times. This rule applies to adults, juniors, and guests. It is almost impossible to define what is “appropriate tennis attire,” except by highlighting what is prohibited and by relying on your good judgment:
  • Bathing suits, dungarees, and cut-off jeans are not acceptable attire.
  • Play will not be permitted in bare feet, dirty sneakers, or without proper tennis shoes.
  • T-shirts of any kind are strictly prohibited, with the exception of collarless tennis shirts.
The Head Tennis Professional and his staff will strictly enforce this policy.
