Member Dining Room

Named for the year the Club was founded, 1894 serves as the Club’s main restaurant and has proved a worthy contender in the local Montclair food scene. Club Members often dine with us several times a week, and even claim it is one of their favorite restaurants! The relaxed space includes a spacious bar overlooking the golf course and Manhattan skyline, covered outdoor seating on the patio, and a large fire pit area for socializing and relaxing.

Eat, Drink, & Play

Additional casual dining and bar locations are conveniently dispersed throughout campus, so you never have to go far or interrupt your activities for a delicious meal. Locations include:

  • Halfway House on the golf course
  • Pro Shop Snack Bar
  • Tiki Bar with seated service
  • Pool Snack Bar

Member Social Events

Hungry for more? Our entertainment calendar is jam-packed with Member events featuring specialized menus, activities, and entertainment.. There seems to always be something going on at the Club! Members can hardly wait for our Fourth of July Carnival, Halloween Fest, Family Campout, and Santa Brunch, as well as buffets on Mother’s Day, Easter, and Thanksgiving.

Dining Policies

  • The Club honors a relaxed atmosphere in keeping with our family-friendly values. "Smart Business Casual" attire is required for the Main Level, 1894, the patio and fire pit for diners age 6 and up.
  • Jackets are optional for men, but collared shirts are required.
  • Should you prefer denim, a well kept pant in dark wash is favorable. Nevertheless, denim may not be worn on the Main Level. Denim shorts are not permitted.
  • Although we like our diners to express their own style, cargo shorts or clothing with external or protruding pockets, are not permitted on Club property.
  • When dining after playing golf, tennis or using the pool please arrive at the Clubhouse in proper attire.
  • If you are choosing the Club for a special celebration, you will feel most comfortable dressed for the occasion.
  • Hats are removed when entering the Clubhouse or Patio dining areas and worn bill or brim forward outdoors.
  • When hosting guests, it is the Member's responsibility to ensure his/her guests are knowledgeable of and comply with the Dress Code.
  • Please make sure all articles of clothing are size appropriate, wrinkle free and void of offensive language, logos, images or content.
  • Gentlemen kindly note: Golf Shirts and Dress Shirts must be tucked into shorts or pants at all times while on Club property. The exception to this rule in the Clubhouse, Patio and Firepit areas are shirts designed to be worn "untucked" (i.e Tommy Bahama, Untuckit).

Members do not have to make reservations for lunch, but are strongly encouraged to make dinner reservations. Reservations may be made through ForeTees or by contacting the Front Desk via phone at (973) 744-7800 or email at [email protected].
Members may call and place an order for take out from 1894 at any time the restaurant is open for a la carte business.
Smoking is prohibited within the Clubhouse, on the patio, or on the path to the side of or in front of the Clubhouse. Smoking is allowed on the golf course, at the Firepit and designated smoking areas
