Women's Golf

Our Women’s Golf programs offer fun, competition, and comradery for female golfers of varying skill levels. Click on each group below to learn more about them and to register for the upcoming season.

In order to be eligible to participate in either the 9 or 18 Hole Women's Golf groups, you must be a regular golf member or spouse golfing member. Additionally, you may participate in both groups as long as you meet the requirements and pay the appropriate dues for each group.

18 Holers

The 18 Hole Women's Golf Group season runs from April to October, with tournament days each Wednesdays.

The membership dues to join are $170 which includes the weekly tournaments, prizes, awards, plaques, trophies, special tournaments, Pro Shop gratuities, and locker room attendant gratuity (shoe cleaning on Wednesdays).

Wednesday Tournaments
Although we encourage all of our women golf members to play, you may only play to a 40 handicap when participating in the Wednesday weekly tournaments. You may play as many or as few Wednesdays as your schedule permits. We will be mixing it up this year – electronic partner pick, special tournaments, medal play, twosomes, threesomes and foursomes.

Weekly Tournament Extended Play
This program, which allows you to “extend” the weekly Wednesday tournament play day through Sunday of the same week, is available to all members of the 18 holer group. There are a few requirements:

  • You can only extend tournament play through Sunday of the same week.
  • Only available during specified times from during the month of April and once during the months May through October; see calendar for details.
  • You must play with another 18 holer – rounds must be attested, signed and score card given to Danny Barretta in the Pro Shop.
  • You may only submit one tournament score for the specified week. For example, if you play on Wednesday and any other day that week, only the Wednesday score counts toward the weekly tournament.
  • You must notify Danny by Wednesday if you will be playing on the extended weekend.
  • You may also play any Wednesday with the 18 holer group during the season which runs from April – October including special tournaments, Member Guest and the Club Championship.

Tee it Forward
This initative allows golfers to choose at the beginning of the season what tee they would like to play - gold, red or the hybrid red/gold tees (gold tees on holes 5, 8, 11 and 12).  You must declare at the beginning of the season and play from that tee throughout with the exception of special hybrid tee tournaments.

9 Holers

This group offers the perfect platform for women just learning to play the game of golf, women who haven’t played in a while and want to get back into the game, and women who love the game and want to enjoy a shorter round of 9 holes.

We are a friendly and sociable bunch with varying skill levels. We take pleasure in the game and the female camaraderie it brings with our fellow female golf members at Glen Ridge County Club.
Some facts about our group:

  • We meet Thursday mornings from April to October. You are not obligated to play every week. Play as often or as little as you like.
  • Everyone plays from the Gold Tees
  • Weekly games vary from electronic pick to medal play to special tournaments.
  • New members will be assigned a “big sister” who will show you the “ropes” and introduce you to the group.
  • Fee is $150which includes the weekly tournaments, prizes, awards, special tournaments, and locker room attendant gratuity (shoe cleaning on Thursdays).
  • Women can be members of both the 9-Holer and 18-Holer groups – you just need to pay dues to both groups.
  • You must be a regular golf member or spouse golfing member in order to join the 9-Holers.

To join, CLICK HERE and complete the form, no later than March 1st.
